Jared Gothreaux

Jared Gothreaux (born January 27, 1980 in Lake Charles, Louisiana) is a free agent Minor League Baseball pitcher.

Career

Gothreaux was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft, in the 37th round, 1106th overall. He decided not to sign with Houston then, but was drafted again by them in 2002, in the 16th round, 491st overall. He was sent to the Single-A team of the Astros at that time, the Tri City ValleyCats. With Tri City, he amassed a 2-3 record, with a 2.72 ERA. The next year, , he was sent to the Salem Avalanche, another Single-A squad. This was a relatively better year, as Gothreaux went 13-4 and had a 2.82 ERA. In , he was bumped up to Double-A, going to the Round Rock Express. In 2004, he went 9-7. Round Rock became Houston's Triple-A team the next year, and he would play the next three seasons mainly for the Express. However, he was at Houston's spring training, and was part of their 40-man roster.

In , he played for Round Rock and with the Toronto Blue Jays Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
