History

James Michael Genenz was born in Evanston, Illinois on the early morning of October 10th, 1975 to parents Nancy Anne Conrad and Robert William Genenz. Growing up, James frequently got into trouble as well as excelling academically. James got into music around age 11 by picking up his father's instruments that were always in the house. James took to music fast, learning at an INCredible rate. Around the age of 13, James starting working with other neighborhood aspiring musicians on various garage band projects. At the age of 17, James joined the death metal band DYSPHORIA and embarked on his first mini-tour ever with Suffocation and Cryptopsy in Canada. James recorded a few demos and played many shows around the world with DYSPHORIA before the band disbanded in late 1995. James then went on to play guitar for doom metal merchants AVERNUS and performing double duty, also playing bass guitar for deathgrind legends FLESHGRIND. During this time James was at his busiest playing with two bands, recording and touring all over the world. For eight years this was the cycle, and around early 2003 a separation occurred between James and AVERNUS. James focused all his energy into FLESHGRIND but alas, that unfortunately came to end at the end of 2005. Around this time James was in contact with death metallers JUNGLE ROT and had filled in on the guitar and bass guitar for a couple of tours. It was decided James would join the band permanently on the bass guitar. James lives in Mount Prospect, Illinois. James is currently working as a booking agent for a club in Mount Prospect called Ye Olde Town Inn. More information will be provided.
