Jaidee-Lee Shortridge

Jaidee-Lee Shortridge (born 11 February 2010) is an Australian rules footballer who plays for the South Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL Women's League (SANFLW). She was promoted to the club's senior squad in 2025 after progressing through junior development pathways. Shortridge has also represented South Australia in underage development programs and has been recognised as a promising young player.

Early life and junior career

Shortridge was born on 11 February 2010 and began her football journey at Cove Football Club in South Australia. She later joined the South Adelaide development program, where she stood out as a strong junior performer.

In 2024, she was selected to represent South Adelaide in the SANFL Girls Intrastate Carnival, playing in the Under-15 team. She was named among the side’s best players and kicked a goal during the tournament.

SANFLW career

Shortridge was elevated to the South Adelaide SANFLW League squad in 2025 and was named in the club’s Round 3 team. That same year, she was selected in the SANFL Under-16 bottom-age girls development squad, a state-level program designed to prepare emerging players for higher competition.

Playing style

Shortridge plays primarily as a midfielder and forward. She is known for her agility, ball movement, and positioning. While still developing at the senior level, she has shown promise through her work rate and versatility across the ground.

Personal life

Outside of football, Shortridge is a student. Her favourite pre-game meal includes yoghurt with strawberries, banana, and blueberries. She prefers playing in warm, cloudy conditions and has named the Maldives as her dream travel destination. In her club profile, she said: "There are always going to be ups and downs, but you just have to keep pushing through and remember that everything happens for a reason."
