Jacqueline Malouf

Jacqueline Malouf (born 3 July 1941, Los Angeles, California)(died 12 October 1999, La Jolla, California, of leukemia) was an actress, artist and teacher.

Malouf is best known for her role as Leilani Dedham, hereditary princess of the fictional island nation of Haleakaloha, in the 1963 film Donovan's Reef. She also had the uncredited role of Lietta Appleyard, in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), and appeared in episodes of Petticoat Junction and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. Her last screen credit was in 1966.

While her diminutive stature made it possible for her to play adolescent in Donovan's Reef, she was actually a student of the University of Southern California at the time of production and graduated from USC (Class of 1963), having served as vice president of the Associated Student Body. She would later serve on the board of advisers for the USC School of Nursing.

In 1964, she married Andrew Nassir, and at the time of her death, at age 58, they had two sons and a granddaughter. She left show business a couple of years after her marriage, becoming a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and later in a Montessori school. She also followed her desire to become an artist, known for her French impressionistic-style seascapes.

Jacqueline Malouf Nasser should not be confused with the Australian-born cookbook writer Jacque Malouf.
