Jack Burkman (Vancouver, WA)
Jack Burkman (b. 1954) is a city council member (1998-2001, 2009-Present) of Vancouver, Washington, the fourth largest city in Washington state. He is also Vice-Chair of the Clark College (Washington) Board of Trustees, SW Regional Transportation Council Director, and member of Metro (Oregon regional government) Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation. His past local service includes Vice-President of Public Policy for YWCA Clark County Board of Directors, Chair of Fort Vancouver Regional Library District, Chair of Southwest Washington Clean Air Agency, and member of C-TRAN Board of Directors.
Burkman chose not run for re-election following his prior Vancouver City Council term in order to support his daughter's [...] rehab as reported in The Columbian. In 2009, Burkman became one of four candidates for the council seat being vacated by Councilmember Pat Jollota , eventually winning the election.
Burkman was raised in western Montana. He and wife, Sherry, have three children and three grandchildren. They have resided in Vancouver since 1985.
