Isyu at Punto

Isyu at Punto is a news and public service radio program of Dennis Barrios (who started as media practitioner in 1989) and Jack Roman (a researcher by profession). It airs every Saturday from 11:00am - 12:00nn on DWBL.

History

It began last January 16, 2009 as Punto at Isyu. In February 2009, Jimmy De Venecia, Pete Gomez and Allen Aguirre joined the program.

On March 26, 2009, Dennis located Joy Navarro at the LBP office and was invited to join and anchor the radio program. During the meeting regarding airing preparations at the LBP office, Rolly “Lakay” Gonzalo of DWIZ 882Khz/UNTV and President of LBP suggested to change the title from Punto at Isyu to Isyu at Punto. This was seconded by Gani Oro of Super Radyo DZBB 594 and Business Manager of LBP who also provided valuable advices on other matters regarding the radio program.

By March 27, 2009, it had finalized its contract with DWSS 1494 through Elsa Dioneda, account manager of FBS Radio Network Inc.. The intro/extro and stinger was voiced-over by Oscar Cruz of UNTV.

It first aired its maiden broadcast on April 4, 2009 at DWSS 1494. It was anchored by Joy Navarro, co-anchored by Dennis Barrios and Ante Pagulayan on the technical side, with Jimmy, Pete and Allen as reporters. Over the year of broadcasting activity, it has won a steady number of avid listeners in Metro Manila and nearby provinces due largely to its pro-active format.

In February 2010, changes were effected by Dennis Barrios (Program Producer and Director). It transferred to its present timeslot at DWBL 1242. It is currently anchored by Dennis Barrios & Ante Pagulayan. Meanwhile, a spin-off program which is a family and public service radio program, Aagapay first aired its maiden broadcast on January 24, 2010 at the same station & airs every Sunday. It is anchored by Dennis Barrios & Joy Navarro.
