IsTalking
IsTalking L.L.C. is a Phoenix, Arizona based company that was created in 2006 by Anthony Conti and major league baseball player Luis Gonzalez. Unlike MySpace and Facebook, the company focused on creating a social network service that could cater to specific colleges.
The first school that Conti and Gonzalez have chosen to test their service on is Arizona State University and is appropriately titled: ASUIsTalking.com. Future plans include adding at least 300 more unique sites for other universities around the nation in an attempt to help the students recognize what is taking place on their campuses.
As stated in The State Press, the goals of the site are to help the current students and alumni, at the universities, interact with other members of the local schooling community and to help incoming students meet other students at the university.
Recently, IsTalking partnered with Jobing.com in order to create opportunities for students to search for careers through the IsTalking digital interface. Gonzalez stated: “It’s important that we bring them [students] job opportunities that are relevant and that match up with their interests. This partnership will allow them to do just that.”
