Ironman Live
Ironman Live is a service of the World Triathlon Corporation's Ironman.com (formerly ironmanlive.com), an internet site that offers live, online-only coverage of Ironman triathlon events around the world.
History
Ironman Live was developed in 1999 by Ben Fertic, formerly WTC's Vice President of Information Systems, in association with sports technology company Sportsvision.
Ironman Live was at the forefront of an internet revolution, which for the first time brought the events of the Ironman Triathlon World Championship live into homes around the world. Over time more events, including every North American event and most European events, were also covered live.
Coverage Features
The actual Ironman Live branding is used to represent the live webcasts which GeneRally feature commentary by Greg Welch, five time world champion. More generally, Ironman Live offers live tracking of athletes at the events, text and photo updates, and on demand video and audio InterViews. Ironman Live is lead by Ironman.com Managing Editor Kevin Mackinnon and Travis Sitzlar, Ironman.com's Director of Online Media.
