IQ Nottingham
iQ Nottingham (Exchange), is a student residence converted from a former telephone exchange and is one of the more unusual student residences in Britain.
Background
iQ stands for intelligent Quarters. iQ is a specialist fund that develops and operates student accommodation in the UK. The fund, a 50/50 joint venture between Quintain Estates and Development plc and Wellcome Trust, has over £250m of operational and committed assest and a target size of £600m.
Quintain Estates and Development plc is a London Stock Exchange listed company specialising in property investment, property management and sustainable urban regeneration.
The Wellcome Trust is an independent charity funding research to improve human and animal health. Established in 1936 and with an endowment of around £15 billion, it is the UK's largest non-governmental source of funds for biomedical research.
