Iowa Federation of College Republicans
Iowa Federation of College Republicans (also known as IFCR) is the leading political youth movement in the state of Iowa, with thousands of members spread across 25 ACTIVE campus chapters in the state of Iowa.
Background
The Iowa Federation of College Republicans serves college campuses across the state of Iowa by providing an opportunity for conservative and Republican students an opportunity to gather to discuss political issues, plan events, develop leadership abilities and provide opportunities to campaign for and interact with elected Republican officials. IFCR is an affiliate of the College Republican National Committee and the Republican Party of Iowa. Each spring the organization hosts a statewide convention, featuring guest speakers and other IFCR business including elections of statewide officials. Other activities include efforts to send care packages to US troops serving overseas each Christmas, IFCR Day on the Hill which gives students opportunities to meet with elected officials and tour the capital, and other educational activities.
History
College Republicans have a history of political activism around the state of Iowa. Assisting in hundreds of campaigns for candidates at the federal, state and local level, they have played a crucial role in many close races. In March 2009, Chairman Greg Baker gave a speech on the floor of the Iowa House during a public forum over the repeal of federal deductibility. Following Baker's speech, 600 Iowans were removed from the gallery after demonstrating their approval by cheering.

Leadership
The Iowa Federation of College Republicans holds annual elections each spring during their state convention. The executive board consists of four elected officials, including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. Additional appointees include an Executive Director, three regional coordinators, a Public Relations Director, and a High School Outreach Coordinator.
