International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence

The International Conference on Pattern Recognition and Machine Intelligence (PReMI) is a biennial international scientific conference that focuses on research in pattern recognition, machine intelligence, and related areas. The conference was initiated by the Machine Intelligence Unit (MIU) of The INDIAN Statistical Institute (ISI Kolkata), with the aim of providing a platform for presenting state-of-the-art research, fostering academic and industrial collaboration, and promoting interdisciplinary interaction among scientists, engineers, researchers, and students. The conference is endorsed by the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

The first EDition of PReMI was held in 2005 at ISI Kolkata, with Sankar Kumar Pal serving as the General Chair. The proceedings of the conference are published by Springer in its prestigious Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. In recent years, the conference proceedings have been indexed in several renowned academic databases and citation services. The 11th edition of PReMI is scheduled to take place at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi from December 11–14, 2025.
