Indian Wahabi movement

The Indian Wahabi movement is a movement to steer Islam to its more fundamental roots similar to the Arabian Wahabi movement. It was founded by Syed Ahmed Brelavi (1789-1831) of to Raibareli in India. Its aim was to establish wahabi sovereignty in India or a Dar-ul-Islam.Syed Ahmed Brelavi started the movement when he saw Islam IN India drifting towards superstitions and exaggerated veneration of saints and prophets.
