IDB Miami 2008 Host Committee
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Miami 2008 Host Committee, Inc., is a non-profit public-private-partnership established to coordinate the 2008 Annual Meeting of the IDB on behalf of the United States.
In past years the IDB Annual Meeting has been paid for primarily by the government of the country hosting the event. This year, in Miami, the private sector will play an unprecedented role in planning and executing the Meeting. Representing South Florida’s economic dynamism and commitment to the Western Hemisphere, the Host Committee is composed of local and national leaders in banking, telecom, media, infrastructure, and government who share a profound commitment to social and economic development in the Americas. The IDB Miami 2008 Host Committee invites companies, universities, and institutions, to join the Committee in planning and executing the Annual Meeting, with the twin goals of raising $8 million to finance the meeting and engaging the private sector in the essential development work of the IDB.
