ICOPMAS

The Biannual International Conference on Coasts, Ports and Marine Structures (ICOPMAS) was founded by Dr. Kabir Sadeghi in 1990. Since 1990, nine conferences were held and the 10th conference will be held by the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO) on November 19-21, 2012.

Moral sponsors

The moral sponsors of ICOPMAS are International Maritime Organization (IMO), the Association for Waterborne Transport World Infrastructure (PIANC), The International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IHO), United Nations, Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Coordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology and Pollution Monitoring of the CASPIAN Sea (CASPCOM), International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) and the Union of Coastal and Marine Universities and Research Centers.

Objectives

ICOPMAS, as one of the oldest and the most important scientific events in Iran and the Persian Gulf region, provides an appropriate ground for exchange of the latest scientific innovations and technical executive achievements by gathering engineers, designers, scientists and researchers in the field of coasts, ports and marine structures. The conference will also be a think tank to improve the knowledge of coasts and ports engineering. In addition, "ICOPMAS" affords an international forum for experts to present their capabilities to the world and opens up new HORIZONS for students to be familiar with new research areas as well as the latest approaches of marine society.
