ICOM Tele A/S

ICOM is a Danish mobile virtual network operator and broadbands network operator.

History

Since the founding in 1995, ICOM has been a first on the market in various disciplines within the Danish telecommunication industry. ICOM (ICOM Networks) was the first Danish company to create, design, service and deliver complete wide area network-solutions (WAN) for public Danish institutions, be it municipalities and national administrative bodies. Since then ICOM has cemented its position in the market as an provider of WAN and more recently in IP telephony.

During 2007, ICOM became the first Danish service provider to run as a SIP MVNO. MVNOs had been on the market for almost a decade; however none had previously done the signalling and routing through the SIP protocol, which is now a standardized way of running an MVNO business.

Through its wholly owned Danish SIP MVNO ICOM Tele provides full coverage of telecom services; broadband, mobile/fixed telephony over IP, wholesale carrier traffic and other value-adding services. ICOM Tele is connected to several Danish network operators giving it a better coverage map than each of the individual full network operators.

Product Portfolio

The core product of ICOM is split between a SIP MVNO platform and a unified communications platform. The core engine of ICOM’s SIP MVNO platform is dubbed Signify Engine and comprises an end-to-end solution for running a telecommunications ecosystem.

The core product of the unified communication platform is dubbed ICOM Suite and collects various communication critical components for end customers. ICOM Suite is essentially a natural expansion for a MVNO to provide for its end customers.

Connection to MNOs

ICOM is technically connected to 2 Danish MNOs:
