Iceni (company)

Iceni is a new bottled water company, located in Duxford, Cambridgeshire. It is the first bottled water company to form in East Anglia. Water will be piped from the source, a Borehole, around 75 meters deep, to a near by, purpose built £11 million bottling plant to be located in a disused factory just off the A505. It aims to fill 160,000 bottles a day and employ 25 people. It aims to have a much smaller carbon footprint compared to other bottled water companies whom import water throughout the world. The company is owned by Cheung Kong Infrastructure, A Hong Kong based business. Iceni hope to distribute their water in recycled plastic bottles. Iceni hope to begin selling their water in Spring 2008.

The company is named after the Iceni tribe, whom inhabited the local area during the first century AD.
