Ian Shepherdson

Ian Shepherdson is a British economist. He is the founder and Chief US Economist of Pantheon Macroeconomics, an economic research firm located in Newcastle, England, with offices in White Plains, New York.

After graduating from Loughborough University with a B.sc in Banking and Finance and a PHD in Economics Ian began working as Chief UK Economist at HSBC, a position he held for 6 years. He then moved to the United States, working as Chief U.S. Economist for HSBC before taking the same position at Economic Research Consultants High Frequency Economics 2 years later. In 2012, Ian founded his own Independent Economic Consultants, Pantheon Macroeconomics, who focus on the U.S., Eurozone and Latin American Economies.

Ian is a past winner of the Wall Street Journal's annual U.S. economic forecasting competition. He been called one of the "best economists in the city" by the London Times and "consistently right" by the New York Times.
