Hugo Tamagnini Goncalves

Hugo Tamagnini Pereira Ribeiro Gonçalves, born on 20 January, 1977 in the town of Oporto (Porto), Portugal, is an Innovation Management consultant and office manager in an international consultancy group in Brussels.

In the beginning of 2007, Hugo T. Gonçalves set up the Brussels office of INNOVA Europe S.a.r.l., the front company of the INNOVA Group, one of the largest private networks of innovation services in Europe, with associates in Italy, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic and USA. Presently, the network employs more than 100 workers.

Hugo T. Gonçalves holds a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering and Management with a major in industrial and production management and logistics, and is currently completing an Executive Masters in Finance at Solvay's Business School. Having studied and worked in a number of European Universities, Research Centres and corporations, such as, Aveiro University, the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, the Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg, Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG and Inova+ he developed strong communication skills and is accustomed to work in international environments and within multidisciplinary teams. His areas of knowledge focus on industrial management and innovation consultancy services. More specifically Hugo has expertise in Quality and Production control, Industrial automatisms, SME innovation consultancy, European and Portuguese RTD as well as Innovation projects management, and business development and management.

Hugo T. Gonçalves started his career in the industry sector, at Rolls-Royce airplane engine plant in Dahlewitz, Germany, as an intern project quality controller in charge of the performance of first article inspections for new jet engines entering production. He then went on to work as project developer for projects related with industrial devices and production optimization at Quantum Leap, an industrial engineering and automation consultancy firm based in Porto, Portugal.

In early 2005, Hugo T. Gonçalves joined INOVA+, a leading Portuguese company specialised in the field of promotion and management of international projects on innovation. Inova+ is part of the INNOVA Group. At INOVA+, Hugo worked as project manager for EU and National R&D programmes, trainer on innovation and public funds access, and as the responsible technology innovation consultant in the company's SME department.
