Homes For Our Troops

Homes for our troops is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2004. It was named Top Rated Charity by the American Institute of Philanthropy. They are strongly committed to helping our men and women who fight for our country, the United States of America. They are geared more toward servicemen and women who are severely injured and helping their immediate families. The houses that are built can be built from scratch or a pre-existing home can be made handicap accessible for the soldier. There is no cost to the veterans for building these homes. To make the project a success, donations of money, building supplies, and professional help are raised.

Founder

Homes for our troops was founded by John Gonsalves. Before he founded the charity, John had 20 years experience in the construction field. The September 11 attacks is what really changed his life. Like many others, he would sit and listen to the nightly news AbOUT our troops returning home with severe head trauma or that they had loss a limb or their vision. He knew that something had to be done and homes for our troops was born.
