Homeless Records is an independent record label respresenting the Inland Empire region of Southern California. The company's list of artist includes Lunch aka Da General (CEO), Gambit, Diamonique, J-Walq, Sage & Yun'N, and Fingazz(Producer). The artist's lyrics depicts the gritty times and violent side of the Inland Empire, or I.E. as commonly referred, while also transforming The New sound of West Coast music. The I.E. was immortalized on their popular underground single "I.E. Anthem".
AbOUT Lunch aka Da General (CEO of Homeless Records)
You may already be familiar with the unique sound of Lunch aka Da General. He's rapped on three Reebok radio commercials with DaOrfenz featuring Allen Iverson and Nick Van Exle. His discography boasts plenty of collaborations with major label talent including Akon, Styles P, WC, Rayvon, Kurupt, Dominoe & KRS1 for Temple of Hip Hop. His underground street appeal has secured his guest appearance on over 25 independent albums and over 70 mixtapes. Plain and simple, he's everywhere- in magazines (Allhiphop.com, True Magazine, etc.), on radio (Wild 96, 106.1 KMEL, Power 106, etc.), and in the streets grindin' hard- a strategy that has already positioned him to be a leader in the new generation of Hop Hop lyricists.
Meet Lunch. Although recently signed with Federal/Universal Distribution, he's been releasing albums [since '97 with 100,000 plus units sold independently in the streets of the Inland Empire (Southern L.A.) and across the nation. He's graced world famous stages (i.e. House of Blues, The Roxy, Key lub, Wilshire Theatre and Stampede Stadium) alongside legendary artists KRS1, Method Man, Warren G, WC, Xzibit, Big Daddy Kane, Erykah Badu, Mad Lion, and De La Soul and recently headed a Rockafella event. And we're just getting started!
This year has been even busier for Lunch with his latest album, “Heart of a Lion,” scheduled for release August 14. The first single, “Get 'Em Girl,” is produced by Fingazz of Streetlight productions who recently produced a Billboard Top 20 hit, “Lean Like a Cholo.” The classic album features labelmates Diamonique and Homeless Nation as well as 40 Glock (G-Unit), Styles P, Rayvon, Kokane, and more. His most recent release included three mixtapes released in just one week for over 20,000 units sold- “Reheated Vol 2," "Eat & Defeat Vol 2" hosted by DJ Felli Fel, "Lunch Mixtape Vol 909” Presented by DJ Dantana. Of course, Lunch's future holds a lot more shows, interviews, and releases to come.
Lunch is about to introduce the Inland Empire to a mainstream audience. His album brings to the table a universal sound with cleverly choreographed lyrics and showcases to the world the new generation of Hip Hop.
“The name Homeless came about because we never felt part of any one society; we were outcasts. Homeless Nation is a movement, it’s a way of life, it’s a religion, and it’s a style of music,” says Lunch.
