History
In 2007 HomeInsurance.com CEO Carlos Lagomarsino acquired HomeInsurance.com and brought his insurance business online. In its infancy, HomeInsurance.com served as a place where customers could submit requests for home and auto insurance quotes online which were received by the 10-15 licensed agents in the HomeInsurance.com call center. In recent years the company has expanded to employ approximately 125 licensed agents, and offers comparative online rates for some customers.
In October 2010 Lagomarsino acquired the online property HomeownersInsurance.com which is now part of the HomeInsurance.com marketplace. In March of 2012, HomeInsurance.com was acquired by technology company Red Ventures.
