Hindol Bhattacharjee, born on 2nd July of 1976, proved to be one of the major poets of in Bengali poetry. His two major works are Tumi Arakshito, published on 2002 by Offbit and Abar Hemontokalpublished by Abovash. Since the early period of 1990, he has been writing.
Education
Hindol Bhattacharjee ws a student of Hindu School and passed Madhyomik at the year of 1994 and highwer secondary at the year of 1996. After that not going to the conventional studies in Engineering he studied English honours and was a student of Presidency College. Then he completed his M.A from Jadavpur University in Comparative Literature.
Works
From the very beginning of childhood he was a frequent writer though until 1994, his genious was not reflected.His first poem was published in Gandhar and then in Bijolpo. After that his poems wer published in renowned magazines like Desh, Sananda, Anushtup, krittibas and in various magazines of West bengal. His works were translated in different languages and he was one of the members of the 15 poets of Bengal who were invited in Poetry seminar organised by Sahitya Academy, Kolkata on the year 2002. besides writing poetry he was also a member of the editorial board of SAS, an annually published theatre magazine in Bengali.His first renowned book was published on 2002. The name of the book og poetry is Tumi, Arakshito(2002). His second book of poetry was published in the year 2006. the name of the book is Abar hemontokal. the only drama he has written is 'Agniborshi', a transcreation from 'Look back in anger', written by John Osbourne. The drama was staged more than 40 times in Academy by Sanskriti.
Political Activity
After the massacre organised at nandigram he was involved in the CIVIL SOCIETY MOVEMENT along with Joy Goswami, kabir Suman, Saoli Mitra and published a short book of poem, named 14.3.07 which has gained immense popularity.
Occupation
Hindol bhattacharjee is a copywriter of a reputed advertising agency named as radiant Advertising.he is also a critic of poetry and writes a lot of articles in different little magazines and in Commercial magazines like AnandaBazar patrika, Pratidin, Unish Kuri.
