Highland Rim Head Start
Highland Rim Head Start is an United States federally-funded preschool program for low-income children and families, funded through the Department Of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families. The Primary grantee is Highland Rim Economic Corporation based in Erin, Tennessee.
HREC was charted as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1966, and is the primary Community Action Agency serving residents of Dickson, Houston, Humphreys and Stewart Counties.
Highland Rim Head Start is currently funded to serve 230 children, and operates 12 classrooms in seven centers: Dickson - 4 classrooms,Burns, Charlotte, Erin - 2 classrooms, McEwen, Waverly, Stewart Co. - 2 classrooms.
The program is under the direction of the Highland Rim Economic Corporation Board of Directors in conjunction with the Head Start Policy Council. It is guided by a director and five additional component managers.
