High-Watt Crucifixers

High-Watt Crucifixers is a local dirty rock n' roll band from Austin, Texas. Originally starting out as Die Cobra in mid summer of 2006 with singer Paul "Pablo Diablo" Perez and guitarist Rich "PK Ripper" Mendez as founding members. The current and existing band members for High-Watt Crucifixers are PK Ripper, Mario Alvarez (lead guitar), and Jason Westbrook aka JWT1000 (bass).

Now a fully independent band, The High Watt-Crucifixers continue to be a driving force of rock and roll within the Austin music scene. The band cite themselves as "The saviors of Rock n' Roll" as a spin off of previous Die Cobra lyrics written by Perez, "Try and save this Rock n' Roll".

Band Name

The name, "High-Watt Crucifixers" is inspired by a nick name of some organized religious sects who are often referred to as "Bible Thumpers", "Holy-Rollers" or "Crucifixers".

Crucifixers are often seen on the street corners holding up signs, rock shows handing out pamphlets with God's message, or walking door to door on any given morning on a mission to talk to anyone who is willing to listen, and convert people to their religion.

The term, "High-Watt" comes simply from the fact that high amounts of electricity are used to drive the powerful amplifiers that the band uses to deliver their message of Rock n' Roll Salvation, therefore making them " The Saviors of Rock n' Roll"
