Hifigear
Hifigear is a hi-fi and home cinema retailer formed in 2003 in Gloucester, UK.
History
Hifigear was started in 2003 under the name Gloucester Hifi as a partnership by Phil Glazzard who still owns the business today. Initially operating from a small 70sqm lock-up shop in Eastgate Street Gloucester, the range of brands on offer was limited. In 2004 an e-commerce arm was added to the business named Hifigear which proved to be successful.
By 2005 the business relocated to 100sqm shop in Three Cocks Lane Gloucester, and added more prominent brands.
The 'bricks and mortar' retail business changed name to Hifi Gear Ltd in 2008 to mirror the name of the e-commerce arm of the business and added two sales staff. In 2009 the business moved again to a more prominent location with larger premises of 300sqm having two demonstration rooms, warehousing and car parking at Westgate Retail Park, adding two further sales staff.
