Helsinki-pyörä
Helsinki-pyörä (Helsinki wheel) was a Ferris wheel located in Linnanmäki amusement park in Helsinki, Finland. The wheel was opened to public in 1964. It originally had the name Boston-pyörä (Boston wheel), but the name was later changed. The wheel was made in Germany and its diameter was 24 meters. Until 1998 it was the largest Ferris wheel in Finland. Later it was topped by Giant Wheel of Suomen Tivoli, the largest movable Ferris wheel in the world.
The old Helsinki-pyörä was replaced in 2006 with a bigger one, Rinkeli. Helsinki-pyörä will be reassembled in Tykkimäki in 2007.
