The village Nandpur hosts the historical Gurudwara of Reru Sahib which is associated with the tenth Sikh guru - Guru Gobind Singh

Like all other Jat Clans of North India they are also most likely Indo-Scythians by lineage who moved into the Indian subcontinent from central Asia though either the northern route (Khyber Pass -> Punjab, Indus valley) and/or through southern route - (Sind -> Rajasthan, Gujrat). This surname may also be found in very small pockets in Rajasthan and Pakistan Punjab along the Indus river valley.
