Hans Jørgen Lysglimt

Hans Jørgen Lysglimt, also known as Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen, (born 13 September 1971) is a Norwegian entrepreneur, politician and social commentator.

Lysglimt was born in Fredrikstad and graduated from Lund University in 1996 with a degree in business and economics (Siviløkonom).

From 2000 to 2003 he was the leader of the Free Democrats. Since 2012 he has been a leader of the Mises Institute of Norway, which he co-founded. He is a candidate for the 6th seat in Oslo in the 2013 election to the Storting on behalf of the Pirate Party.

In 1999, he founded the Runbox e-mail company, which has worked on issues of personal privacy and surveillance. In April 2010, he conducted one of the first video interviews with Julian Assange. In June 2013 he went public with information on how the FBI had used Norwegian law to require him to surrender personal information about a customer and to instruct him to keep the matter confidential.

He headed the effort to relaunch the classic economics journal Farmand, and now heads the new online version at the modern Norwegian spelling Farmann.
