Gusti Leder
Gusti Leder is a German company which operates in handcrafted leather bags and accessories. It was founded in 2009 by Christian Pietsch with an idea conceived during travels. It has its headquarters in Rostock, Germany. Initially the name of the company was Kunst und Lederhandel Pietsch which later turned into Gusti Leder. The company got its name from the childhood memory of Pietsch's goat Gusti.
Inspiration
During his student years, Christian Pietsch made several trips to India, where he became fascinated by the local leather industry. These experiences inspired the idea that would later become Gusti Leather. As an economics student in the Late 2000s, he sought a practical venture that could balance the theoretical nature of university studies. Motivated to create something tangible—and potentially profitable—he began exploring opportunities within the leather trade, laying the foundation for the company.
