Gulf Coast Aviation
Gulf Coast Aviation 1 is a modern Flight Training Center headquartered at The New Orleans Lakefront Airport in New Orleans, LA. Gulf Coast Aviation operates two training facilities. The second flight training center is located at 1L0 in Saint John the Baptist Parish, LA.
Gulf Coast Aviation is the only Cessna Pilot Center (CPC) in New Orleans. CPC's offer integrated ground and flight computer-based training and are required to provide modern aircraft for training.
Gulf Coast Aviation was founded by an Aeronautical Engineer in February 2005, just six months before Hurricane Katrina devastated the airport. Gulf Coast Aviation was The First Flight training center back in operation after the hurricane. Most businesses at New Orleans Lakefront Airport are currently operated from a temporary trailer, except for Gulf Coast Aviation. It is the first business to return to a building.
Gulf Coast Aviation was the first flight school in Louisiana to offer the G1000 flight training platform and was one of the first flight schools in the nation to offer the Diamond DA42 Twinstar as a multi-engine trainer.
