'Zindgi Ka Har Rang..Gulaal'', a drama-series is currently on-air on Star Plus. This show is the baby of Sphere Origins and premiered on 15 November 2010. Sphere Origins already have shows like Saat Phere and Balika Vadhu to their credit. Gulaal is written by Prakash Kapadia and directed by Sidharth Sengupta. The amazing direction and cinematography makes it a beloved show. The show has close resemblance to a National Award winning film ‘Ek Chaadar Maili Si’ which starred Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon.

Plot

Gulaal is a young girl from Rashipur, Kutch. She has a zest for life and has a God gifted unique ability to unearth water in the arid lands. The story goes as Talsagra, a neighbouring village of Rashipur has been hit by a harsh drought. Vasant, the protagonist from Talsagra learns about Gulaal’s talent and in order to end the woes of his people, he setsout in search of Gulaal. When Vasant recounts the situation of Talsagra, Gulaal against the will of the entire clan decides to go to Talsagra for the sake of humanity. Gulaal is finally able to end the hostility of the two villages and brings joy in the life of hundreds. Eventually, the love between Vasant and Gulaal blossoms and both tie the holy knot. But fate has something stored for her. Her happiness is short-lived when Vasant dies making way for all the grief and turmoil in her life! It is captivating to see Gulaal fighting in full spirit, making intelligent choices and taking over the responsibilities of her family. Since Vasant has died she had decided to make his dreams/responsibility come true, in order for her to do that she is forced to marry Dushyant or Kesar according to the system of deeyarvatu (remarrige ). She marries Kesar and Dushyant soon realized that [...] Vasant was not right and he has decided to be come a better person now. Later Kasar finds out that Dushyant has killed Vasant and acts very rebellious and is sent to boarding school for his well-being. Talli, a girl whose parents died at young age and Sudha decided to adopt her, had now grown-up and is dreaming of marrying Kesar since their childhood friendship. Kesar comes home from boarding school and he still has his grudge from childhood and behaves very rude to Dushyant and Gulaal even though he doesn't want to but he believes this is right. Kesar falls in love with Gulaal,unaware of his feelings she decides to get Kesar and Talli married.But kesar refuses to marry Talli on the wedding day and questions about his relationship with gulaal.Gulaal steps in and declares that there is no identity or even a chance of existence for their Deeyarvatu.The essue is taken to the'panchayat'where Gulaal express her wish to break their marriage.But kesar says that his happiness is in Gulaal's continuing to remain his wife.Panchayat favours kesar.At the same day kesar confess his love to Gulaal.Gulaal is shocked to hear this and decides to leave the home
