GRT Septic System treatments
GRT is a lipase enzyme that has been used for years in industries that break down oil residue. Recently it is being used when there is an overturned oil tanker. Sewage waste plants also incorporate this enzyme in order to function at a high efficiency.
Recently, since the mandates handed down by the US government (see mad cow), GRT is being used in septic system treatments in order to PReVENT the inevitable back-ups that occur when the petroleum by-products clog up the weeping fields (also known as lateral lines) in the septic system.
Petroleum is now used in everything from soaps and shampoos to tissue paper. Septic system failures are increasing at a rate the is 10 times the historical average and are extremely expensive. Consequently, it is strongly recommended that GRT is incorporated into the tank. Pumping will not eliminate this residue. Home Depot is the largest retailer to carry this product to date. Thirty monthly treatments retail for $399 and is well worth the expense considering the fact that it saves the septic system owner thousands of dollars when they don't have to replace the weeping fields (see lateral lines).
Lowes is said to be working towards carrying this product and may cause prices to come down slightly. To date, I know of no other company that has paid the licensing fee to incorporate GRT for use-as it is fairly cost prohibitive to incorporate. (3)Septic Savior is the largest wholesaler of GRT aside from the US government.(4)
