Groep fan auwerk
The Groep fan Auwerk is a organisation that struggles for a independent Greater-Frisia. The land that covers the Greater Frisia region according the Groep fan Auwerk:
- Province Friesland in the Netherlands
- Province Groningen in the Netherlands
- Region East-Frisia in Germany
- Kreis North-Frisa in Germany
History
The organisation was founded in 2003 by presenting their declaration. In 2005 the group starts its First Political activity, the Frisian nationality is requested at the province Friesland in the Netherlands. After that, the FRL license plate sticker action took place. In the European license plate the country code in the blue part with the European stars had a FRL country code. The intention was, that people would put it on their license plate showing they preferred to be Frisian. The group took several other actions, as the anti-[...]-helmet which was produced by a Dutch company for the world championship soccer in 2006. On the 23 September 2006 the group presented the Interfrisian flag. This flag is to be applied to all the Frisian regions.
Politics
The group is politically ACTIVE, working towards a stronger Frisian identity. The area of operation for the Groep fan Auwerk are the territories considered to be a part of Greater-Frisia. A good example is the request for the Frisian nationality. The Frisian nationality should be made optional for all the Frisians besides their Dutch or German citizenship
