Greatest Mojo

Greatest Mojo (formerly known as Pure Gold, Oldies Radio, and Classic Hits) is an American radio network with an Oldies format. It plays primarily pop and rock hits from the 1960s through the 1980s. Greatest Mojo is a property of Citadel Media (through Citadel Broadcasting). DJs include Jay Fox, Maria Danza, Dave Michaels, Teresa Brown, Ron Foster, Mike Preston, Lou Warren, Randy Fuller, Dwayne Dancer and Larry King.

History

Satellite Music Network first started the format in 1981 as "Pure Gold", playing oldies from the early 1950s to the late 1960s. ABC Radio absorbed SMN in 1989 and in the 1990s, it changed to "Oldies Radio", tweaking the format to its current sound, which has remained unchanged despite the name changes the network has gone through.

Its sister format The True Oldies Channel airs pop music from the 1950s to early 80s that had been dropped by "Classic Hits". Upon the name change to "Greatest Mojo", hits from the 1980s returned.
