Great Scott (club)
Great Scott is a live music venue in Allston, Massachusetts USA. It is located at 1222 Commonwealth Avenue at the corner of Harvard Avenue. The venue is currently home to a wide range of live acts with a focus on live indie/rock and DJ based dance NiGHTS.
Owner Frank Strenk bought the club, then called Brandy's, in 1976. When Carl Lavin (who started The Plan) took over the full-time booking in July 2004 and Ben Sisto (of Honeypump) the promotion shortly thereafter, the club quickly established itself in Boston as one of the premier smaller venues in the city. Current residencies include The Pill (Fridays) a legendary long-running dance night for Anglophiles and The Plan (Saturdays) Boston's only weekly indie rock showcase.
The Fenway Recordings Sessions at Great Scott have brought a series internationally recognized acts to the club.
