Gou-Kahn

Gou-Kahn is an American-based breakcore/electronica duo, with a very small fan-base mainly generated through their Myspace profile.

History

Gou-Kahn is an experimental duo originally founded by Elesde Diogee, an electronic musician from Matawan, New Jersey. Gou-Kahn's style ranges from breakcore and grindcore, to industrial and IDM, to trip hop and hip hop, to chiptune-based rhythmic jungle-funk. The duo produces vocals ranging from low-pitch death metal growls, to bellowing scratchy wailing, to a high falsetto pitch.

In mid-late June 2007, Elesde temporarily broke off from his previous MusicAL project and formed "Gou-Kahn" as an experiment, to attempt a stranger, more uncommon variety of music.
On July 22 of the same year, Kyle Hamsandwich became a part of Gou-Kahn.

The name "Gou-Kahn" is a play on the words goukan (japanese: [...] or violation) and Kahn (Genghis Khan, the brutal Mongolianmilitary leader).

Gou-Kahn is virtually shameless, completely ignoring most criticism to their work.

Because of Gou-Kahn's strange, avant-garde sound and lyrics, it is difficult for them to book live shows. Gou-Kahn's live shows GeneRally involve heavy use of strobe lights, and many tracks sound completely different on-stage due to their habit of improvising. Their live shows consist of thumping breakbeats, loud obnoxious vocal work, and a complete mangling and mixing of tracks..
