Goon squad (politics)

Goon squad is a term used in reference to many government, military, or labor- or "anti-labor" organization vigilantes. It also refers to a group of criminals involved in acts of intimidation or thuggery on behalf an individual, usually for profit. The term goon was popularized by the animated series Popeye.

Goon Squad is also the name of a freestyle music project lead by Arthur Baker, known from the one hit Eight Arms To Hold You, which featured in the soundtrack for the 1985 movie The Goonies.
