Good Tools

The Good Tools are a set of ROM auditing tools written by Cowering for Windows capable of auditing and maintaining collections of ROMs for various video game consoles and home computer systems. These ROMs can then be run on the original machine or on a more powerful general-purpose computer (e.g, a PC or a Mac) using an emulator.

The tools are compiled only for the Windows console and no source code is available. The tools can be used in conjunction with another operating system, e.g. GNU/Linux, using a compatibility layer such as WINE.

Good Merge

Good Merge is a program, which is the goal, the author has made the storing of Goodsets into the best archive space. The author does this by placeing each game into its on 7-zip file, which cancels out all the muliple data strings, which significantly cuts the space taken up by the Goodset. It also sorts out all the ROMS, to allow easier searching for ROMS by this sorting method, and it puts all the Public Domain ROMS into its own archive, [...] the clutter even more

This application relies on the goodwill of assorted tools and properly notified collections.

License on Hosting GoodTools

Cowering has allowed only GoodTool programs with a version number below 3.00 are allowed to be hosted, as they were released before Cowering banned them. Programs with a version number of 3.00 or above are only obtainable legally off the allgoodthings Site.
