Go Auto

Go Auto is a privately owned Canadian automotive dealership group known for its network of brand dealerships and its integrated automotive services and insurance operations.

History

Go Auto origins began in 1981 with the founder Mike Priestner, whose operations under the Mike Priestner Auto Group (MPAG) expanded across Alberta, British Columbia, and the Northwest Territories. MPAG acquired few dealerships during the early years, including a Land Rover store in 2004 and additional locations in British Columbia in the mid-2000s.

In 2008, MPAG rebranded as Go Auto and subsequently added franchised brands such as Infiniti, Porsche, Mazda, Nissan, and Volkswagen. Between 2012 and 2014, it expanded further through RV and marine outlets in Alberta and through acquisitions in Red Deer, including Acura, Honda, and Ford Lincoln dealerships.

From 2015 to 2021, Go Auto expanded its national footprint by acquiring and opening dealerships in few provinces. This included expansion into the Northwest Territories in 2015, the addition of its first Toyota franchise in Alberta, and acquisitions in Ontario such as Jaguar Land Rover London and Volvo London, along with Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ford dealerships in the Greater Toronto Area.

Between 2022 and 2025, Go Auto added new brands including BMW, Subaru, and Mitsubishi following the launch of the Go Auto App in 2022. The company continued to expand in British Columbia, acquiring Richmond Chrysler in 2023, Kia West in Coquitlam in 2024, and Go Richmond Subaru and Go Richmond Kia in 2025.
