GlobalCollect

GlobalCollect is a full service payment service provider (PSP) that provides worldwide payment processing and services for customer not present (CNP) e-commerce such as internet, mail, and telephone order. GlobalCollect provides a complete solution including electronic payment processing, reconciliation, invoicing, and bank network management, accepting over 100 payment methods and 158 local currencies through one single web-enabled technical and administrative interface. GlobalCollect's WebCollect online payment platform offers a large range of local payment methods and currencies including:

GlobalCollect offers a full payment processing service. While most providers are limiting their payment services to a technical link with payment acquirers, GlobalCollect provides a complete service which includes the contractual and technical connections to local payment processors worldwide, bank account network management, matching, reporting, and finally the fund remittance.

History

TNT created GlobalCollect to add value to its distribution services in 1994, enabling international publishers to print and send invoices worldwide as well as to accept local payments in local currencies. In a short time period, GlobalCollect’s services interested other industries practicing distant sales, far beyond TNT initial client base. The success of GlobalCollect led to the creation of its own entity in 2000, GlobalCollect BV.

GlobalCollect launched its online payment platform WebCollect in 2001, enabling Internet shops to accept the most popular local payment methods worldwide online, and through a single technical and administrative interface.

For call centres, GlobalCollect developed a specific interface called Call Center Application to its online payment platform in 2003, enabling an online secured processing of payments accepted by phone.

In October 2005, GlobalCollect's management purchased GlobalCollect from TNT in combination with private equity providers.

On July 23 2007 GlobalCollect announced that General Atlantic LLC, a leading global growth equity firm, has completed its transaction to acquire GlobalCollect from Waterland Private Equity Investments and Prime Technology Ventures. General Atlantic is an active value-added investor who supports GlobalCollect to develop its strategic growth plans.
