Global Remote Sensing, LLC.
Global Remote Sensing, LLC., is a hydrographic/geophysical company based out of Seattle, Washington, founded by Richard McGee in 2005. The bulk of the company was created from the former Marine Services Department Of the environmental consulting firm Parametrix Inc, based in Bellevue. In the last couple of years, GRS has acquired personnel from reputable academic institutions and industry in order to form a company with comprehensive skills and experience.
This amalgamation of diversity and capability allows GRS to undertake many different hydrographic, geophysical, remote sensing, and physical oceanographic tasks in and around the intermediate and shallow-water environments, inland rivers, estuaries, reservoirs, and lakes, and onshore/nearshore areas. This capacity is not just relegated to survey and acquisition. A large focus of GRS is the delivery of a usable product that clients can use. For this reason, GRS has invested in acquiring the appropriate assets to include software, research, and personnel needed to bring highly-accurate remotely sensed data from the field to a complete GIS or CAD product for the end-user.
In the next few years GRS will be expanding its capabilities landward to investigate newer products relative to similar spatial sciences, in hopes to bridge the gap between land and sea and provide products that are seamless in order to cater to a wider variety of science and industry.
In Spring 2007, GRS will open up its second office in New Hampshire in order to provide better interaction with their clients in the Eastern United States, Great Lakes area, Europe, and Africa. Additionally, the office will focus on data management and integration, logistics operations overseas, and desktop studies for industry.
