Global Campaign for Climate Action

The Global Campaign for Climate Action (GCCA) is a global alliance of non-governmental organizations, trade unions, and faith groups that was formed to influence the international climate change treaty at the United Nations Climate Change Conference to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark in December, 2009. Its public face is the "TckTckTck" campaign.

Participating organizations

Organizations participating in the GCCA include, inter alia, the Union of Concerned Scientists, Pew Environment Group, Oxfam International, Christian Aid, World Council of Churches, Greenpeace, World Wildlife Fund, 350.org, Avaaz, E3G, Global Humanitarian forum and Global Call to Action against Poverty.

As of December 18, 2009, fifteen million people had signed up to the tcktcktck campaign as "Global Citizens for Climate Action".

TckTckTck partner activities

Partner organizations have been organizing TckTckTck events all over the world to help send the message to world leaders that they need to stand up and show leadership at the Copenhagen climate change conference:

June 23, 2009: Avaaz's Action Factory held a flash mob in Washington, DC on Capitol Hill in support of the American Clean Energy and Security Act (ACES). Forty people gathered in a Congressional cafeteria, froze for two minutes and then yelled, “TckTckTck! The world can’t wait any longer. The ACES Bill must be stronger. Solve climate change now!”
