Giftless
'Giftless' (Oren Ginzburg, ISBN 978-2-9532951-0-8) is an illustrated book published in December 2008 by Hungry Man Books, the publishers of The Hungry Man (2004) and There You Go! (2006).
Overview
In the usual Hungry Man Books format, the book is built around 20 watercolour pictures, each accompanied by one or two sentences.
'Giftless' is AbOUT a manager with a deadly (but maybe not so rare) combination of arrogance, condescension, a total inability to listen, no self-awareness, and a rock-solid belief in his own exceptional value. The story starts when the Christmas Board of Directors decides to replace Santa Claus, who was really doing fine until now, with a Strategic Manager - one who is determined to take the company... to the Next Level. We've all lived through what is coming, but it is great to be able to laugh about it for once!
'Giftless' was featured in this article (in French). Oren Ginzburg's other books were reviewed or mentioned in the New Internationalist and the Guardian. 'There You Go!' attracted comments by Tony Blair, Desmond Tutu, and Mary Robinson.
