Giannis Agouris
Giannis Agouris (Greek: Γιάννης Αγγούρης, July 20, 1930 - August 1, 2006) was a Greek writer and journalist from Achaia.
Biography
Agouris was born in the village of Agios Pavlos which was renamed from Sopoto in 1928 and was shortly renamed to the village of Aroania since 1930 near Kalavryta in the Achaea in which at the time was part of the Achaea and Elis prefecture. He was second of the fifth children of his parents named Georgios and Panagiota Psarrou (Ψαρρού). He completed the gymnasium at Kalavryta and studied at a university at the School of Political Science and at law school. He continued his journals of his career in the mid-1950s. He worked in various politicla and economic newspapers in Athens even at ERT. He ran as chief editor at Naftemporiki (Ναυτεμπορική) newspaper until 1993. For many years, he was member of the economic council known as ESIEA (ΕΣΗΕΑ). after his pension, he entered with writing. The writings of his work brought in three books (the third was not published). He died on August 1, 2006.
