Get Cereal TV
Get Cereal TV is an hour long breakfast show produced by SYN, airing weekday mornings from 7:30am live-to-air on C31 Melbourne. All major contributions to the show are provided by SYN members, making the show created entirely by young volunteers under the age of 25.
The program was begun as a sister project to SYN's morning radio broadcast Get Cereal. Get Cereal TV is run as a training program, and so hosts, guests and crew are rotated and changed at the end of each SYN broadcasting season. There have been five seasons of ten weeks, plus a one-week break titled The Week Off, to the end of 2009. The show is broadcast from the C31 Studios in Melbourne.
Get Cereal TV offers a mix of both news and current affairs, lifestyle, music and entertainment. A typical show will feature two to three regular guest segments, a host segment, and a guest interview. Notable guests to date include Josh Thomas, Tripod, and Peter Combe. The show is often used as a promotional tool for Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe Festival acts.
