Georgina Orwell
Dr. Orwell is a fictional character from the A Series of Unfortunate Events series by Lemony Snicket. She is an optometrist living in the town of Paltryville, within reach of the location of the Baudelaire orphans' guardian, Sir of the Lucky Smells Lumbermill.
In The Miserable Mill, Dr. Orwell reveals herself to be a hypnotist, hypnotizing Klaus Baudelaire. When Klaus hears the word "lucky," he obeys her commands. The word used to bring Klaus out of the hypnosis is "inordinate."
In the same novel, she and Sunny Baudelaire have a swordfight in which Orwell uses a sword and Sunny her four sharp teeth. Dr. Orwell is killed when she is backed into a scrolling sawblade used for [...] wood and is therefore mutilated before members of V.F.D. and actual lumberjacks. It is also possible that Olaf pushed her in the way of the sawblade. A [...] that fits the description of this incident is mentioned in Snicket's autobiography.
Dr. Orwell's full name is Georgina Orwell, and there is speculation that her name is derived from that of author George Orwell.
She may also have been a former member of V.F.D., as the optometrist disguise described in Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography matches her appearance (with the exception of her hairstyle). She May Be one of Olaf's troupe, but may not. She may not have known who Olaf really was and actually thought she was simply a villanous person named Shirley, as her nameplate proclaimed.
