George Varsimashvili

George Varsimashvili (in pronounced Guiorgui Varsimachvili) (born 27 April 1986 in Georgia) is an actor, film director and producer based in Paris.

Biography

The son of the theatre director Avtandil Varsimashvili{{·}}, and his musician mother, he was brought up in Tbilisi together with his sister Mary, in a household that regularly hosted many visiting artists. After a diploma in International Relations at Paris' University d'État, he obtained a Masters in cinema at Université Paris VIII. In 2004, he founded a rock group, Made in Georgia, which released two albums and the soundtrack for a film, Edge.

Living between Paris, Tbilisi, London, Rome and other European cities, acting in his own films, as well as serving as producer when necessary, he made several short films before the 2013 feature movie Particulier à particulier for which he is best known in France.
