George Pappy

George Pappy is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He has written and directed several short and feature films, including Barney, Few Options (aka Few Options, All Bad), and the documentary The Green Girl.

Life

Pappy was born and raised in the Los Angeles area. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Pomona College, several graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering (with minors in Mathematics and Operations Research) from Cal State University Northridge and UCLA, and most recently earned an MFA in Screenwriting at Cal State Northridge. He’s spent a number of years working as a Satellite Engineer in the Aerospace Industry, writing screenplays and working on film projects in his spare time.

Pappy completed the UCLA Extension Programs in Screenwriting and Entertainment Studies (specializing in Directing and Post Production) and was a development intern and script reader at Sony and Universal. He has held internships in commercial production, post-production and visual effects. Along the way, he managed to one-man-shoot a guerrilla feature in the Australian Outback, as well as two short films (one of which screened at the Westwood International Film Festival). He has also taught introductory screenwriting at Cal State University, Northridge.
