George Butiri
Born on April 4th, 1978, and raised in Romania, in the late 70's and early 80's, George Butiri lived through some tough times of communism. As a young child, he was the kind of person who would sing a Christmas carol in class. Communism at the time was not fond of any religion. His mother, Aurica, left Romania when he was only 8 years old. She illegally crossed the border outside the country, lived in refugee camps for AbOUT three years, and finally made it to the U.S.
His father, Nelu, left George to live with George's grandparents, Nelu's parents. Nelu, knew that he could not take care of George all by himself. He would visit George on weekends.
George was reunited with his mother, Aurica, when he turned 11 years of age, in Portland, Maine. His father, Nelu, came across with George at the same time.
His parents divorced soon after arrival into The States. His mom moved to Cleveland, Ohio with him, and his father remained in Portland, Maine.
Being very artistic, he dabbled in music and drawing. He found out that he has a MusicAL ear and a talent for pencil sketches.
Later in life, he developed a talent for video production. He completed two feature films, Alone, and Crops, among other short films and projects.
He currently resides in north eastern Ohio with his wife, Adriana, and his two cats, Kitty and Nico.
