Generals C&C Humvee
The Generals C&C Humvee is an interesting vehicle with many pros and cons. The Humvee is modeled after the real M998 Hummer. The Humvee's star moment is in Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour where they chase the GLA's top leader, General Mohmar "Deathstrike". They chase him at high speeds around the city and destroy his escorts.Unfortunately, they were destroyed when one was blown up and a tower fell on the other one.
History
The first Humvee incarnation was in Red Alert, the Ranger. It was a fast unit that was good against infantry. The vehicle in Red Alert 2 is the IFV (Infantry Fighting Vehicle). The attack of the units inside it modified the attack of the IFV. The latest incarnation is the Pitbull of C&C 3. It was armed with machine-guns and anti-air missiles.
Pros
(1) It can carry up to five infantry which can fire out. (2) It is armed with a light machine-gun that is effective against enemy infantry. (3) It can run over enemy infantry. (4) It is cheap and quickly made. (5) It is a perfect unit for scouting purposes and early rushes. (6) It can carry five infantry in it.
Upgrades
1. With the TOW Missile upgrade to the Humvee, if used correctly in hit-and-run tactics, it can be a scourge to the enemy. The TOW Missile can not only be used against ground targets, but also against air targets.
2. It can be upgraded with one of two drones, the Battle Drone and the Scout Drone.
A. The Battle Drone is armed with a machine-gun which gives some more defense against infantry and is also able to repair its mother vehicle.
B. The Scout Drone increase the line-of-sight and allows the unit to see stealthed enemies.
3. In Zero Hour, the Hellfire Drone is introduced. The Hellfire Drone is armed with a missile which is the ideal companion to the Humvee.
Counters
The Humvee is easily destroyed by missile-armed infantry and vehicles such as tanks.
Strategies
A good strategy is to load it up with one pathfinder and four missile infantry. Another good strategy is to use it with conjunction with ambulances.
Don't forget to install the TOW Missile upgrade. Humvees, Crusader tanks, and missile infantry give you the flexibility to respond to threats as they arise.
When conducting a Humvee strike, be wary for RPG Troopers, Tank Hunters, tank, Terrorists as they can destroy your vehicles. One idea is to pop a Humvee filled with rocket infantry, two Rangers, and a Dozer into a helicopter. Drop them off in the back of their base. Use the dozer to build a mini-base and then attack when the army is to big to hide.
It is extremely helpful in the early game as it can help infantry get to oil derricks and capture them. When the enemy sends troops to capture your oil derricks, the Humvee can easily fight them off.
